Questions

How long does a motorcycle MOT take?
About 30–45 minutes. You can view the test, or drop the bike off and collect later.
What if my bike fails?
We'll tell you what failed and quote the repair. You can have the work done here, take it elsewhere, or do it yourself. Any retest charge depends on what failed and when the bike comes back. Official guidance is at gov.uk.
Can I ride to the test if the MOT has expired?
Yes, to a pre-booked test. The bike must be insured and roadworthy and you must go directly to the test centre. Details at gov.uk/getting-an-mot.
When is the first MOT due?
On the third anniversary of registration, then every year. Check the expiry at gov.uk/check-mot-history.
Which bikes do you test?
Class 1 (up to 200cc) and Class 2 (over 200cc): motorcycles/scooters. Please call if you are not sure (e.g. 3 wheelers).
